Editorial Standards & Responsible Use of AI

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Manhajie publishes books that ask readers for their trust. These standards describe how we earn it: who is responsible for what we publish, how we check it, and how we use, and disclose, artificial intelligence tools in that work.

Our commitments

  • Human editorial responsibility is final. Every Manhajie title has a named human author who sets its ideas, structure, and arguments, and who reviews and approves the final text. The author and publisher are accountable for everything we publish.
  • Material AI use is disclosed. Where AI tools have contributed materially to drafting, translation, imagery, or audio, we say so.
  • Facts and sources are verified by people. AI may assist with fact-checking, but every factual claim, citation, Qur'anic reference, and hadith attribution is verified by a person against reliable sources before publication.
  • Manuscripts and author data are protected. Confidential manuscripts and personal information are not shared with tools or services that would retain or reuse them without the author's consent.
  • Copyright and authorship are respected. We do not publish material that reproduces others' protected work without permission, and we credit translators, editors, and contributors.
  • These standards cover more than prose. They apply equally to cover art, illustrations, audio editions, and translations.
  • Disclosure is title-specific where it matters. When a particular book's use of AI is significant, that book's front matter or page says so.

How we may use AI tools

AI tools may assist with drafting, proofreading, copy-editing, translation support, research organization, formatting, cover and image design, and audio production. They may also provide fact-checking assistance, which is always followed by human verification against reliable sources. They do not replace the author's judgment, and they are never the final word on a text.

Why we disclose

Some readers, writers, and publishers believe AI assistance diminishes the originality or human character of a work. We take that concern seriously, and reasonable people differ on it. Our position is that readers have the right to make an informed choice, and that authors and publishers have an obligation to tell them how a book was made.

Translation

Our books appear in several languages. Translations aim to carry over meaning, tone, and terminology rather than words alone. Religious terms, Qur'anic verses, and hadith are rendered with care, and established scholarly translations are preferred where they exist.

Corrections

If you find an error of fact, a misattributed source, or a translation problem in any Manhajie title, please write to [email protected]. We review every report and correct future printings and editions where needed.
